Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has published Notification for the recruitment of Technical, Non-Technical Apprentices and Data Entry Operator for Western Region of India (Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli).Â

Test Centre:
The test centers for the written test will be located at Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Raipur, Panjim, and Silvassa.
Qualifying Marks:
For General Candidates - 40%.
For SC/ST/PwBD Candidates - 35%.
Medical Fitness Standards:
The candidates need to fulfill the prescribed minimum physical fitness standards/ parameters as specified in the Apprentice Act. Only those candidates declared fit in pre-engagement medical and physical fitness shall be considered for appointment as an apprentice.
Selection Process:
The selection process for various posts in IOCL recruitment 2020 has been given below-
1. The candidates will be selected for the apprenticeship on the basis of marks obtained by them in the Written Test (Duration 90 Minutes).
2. The Written Test contains 100 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
3. Written Test is based on the Concerned Discipline of Diploma Level, General Aptitude & Reasoning, etc.
4 The questions would be available in English and Hindi Languages.
5. No Negative marking for Wrong Answers.
Written Test will comprise the following sections:
1. Trade Apprentice Accountant:
Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude – 30 Marks.
Reasoning Abilities – 30 Marks.
Basic English Language Skills – 40 Marks
2. Trade Apprentice (Data Entry Operator):
General Aptitude and Reasoning Abilities – 25 Marks.
Basic English Language Skills – 25 Marks.
Quantitative Aptitude – 25 Marks.
General Awareness – 25 Marks.
3. Trade Apprentice (Fitter/ Electrician/ Electronics /Instrument / Machinist) & Technician Apprentice (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Civil/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics).
4. Technical Knowledge in the relevant discipline – 40 Marks.
Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude – 20 Marks.
Reasoning Abilities – 20 Marks.
Basic English Language Skills – 20 Marks.
Syllabus:
1. Syllabuses for the subjects General Aptitude, Reasoning, And Basic English Skills are the same for both the Technician and Accountant posts.
2. Generic Aptitude-
Age Calculations, Percentage and Ratio, Averages, Profit And Loss, Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Boats and Streams, Simplification, Speed Time and Distance, Time and Work, Pipes and Cisterns, Data Interpretation, Etc.
3. Reasoning-
Number Series, Relations, Seating Arrangements, Figure Classification, Syllogisms, Directions, Visual Memory, Decision Making, Discriminating Observance, etc.
4. Basic English-
Synonyms and Antonyms, Articles, Sentence Correction, Subject-Verb Agreement, Idioms and Phrases, Sentence Completion, Reading Comprehension, Tenses, Jumbled Sentences, Reading Comprehension, etc.
5. Electrical Domain Concepts-
Analysis of Networks and Circuits, Electromagnetic Theory, Power System Protection Devices, Control Systems, Electrical Energy Utilization, Switchgear, Machines, Analog and Digital Devices, Electronic Devices, Power Electronics, Power System Analysis, etc.
6. Mechanical Domain Concepts-
Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Material Strength, Heat Transfer, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanisms, Engineering Tools, Industrial Engineering, Steam Generators, Machine Design, etc.
7. Instrumentation Domain Concepts-
Analog and Digital Electronics, Signals and Systems, Electronic and Electrical Measurements, Control Systems, Basic Communication Engineering, Optical, and Analytical Instrumentation, Bio-Medical Instrumentation, Industrial Instrumentation, etc.
8. Accounts Syllabus-
Accounts of non-trading concerns, Amalgamation, Bonus shares and final accounts, Company Account, Absorption and re-construction, Accounting Standards, Consignment, Bank Reconciliation Statement, Branch Accounts, Valuation of goodwill and shares and Ratio Analysis, Basic concepts and conventions, Depreciation, Final Statements of Accounts, Life Insurance Companies Bank Accounts, Hire Purchases Installment Systems, Self Balancing Ledgers and Royalties, Preparation of Trial Balance, Provision and Reserves and Accounting Standards in India, Bills of Exchange, Non-trading concerns, Accounts from incomplete records, Liquidation of Companies, Partnership Accounts (including admission, retirement, death, and dissolution), Redemption of debentures, Joint ventures, Accounting process up to and including preparation of financial accounts, Issues and forfeiture of Shares and Debentures, Errors and their rectification, and Single entry.
