Combined Defence Services exam which is commonly known as CDS. This exam conduct twice in a year by recruiting agency UPSC. But lot of candidates unaware of this exam. What is CDS?
UPSC conducts CDS test two times every year and this is one of the most well known tests for the applicants who are want to join as an Officer in the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Officers Training Academies.
What is Required Educational Qualification for CDS?
INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY - Graduation Degree.
INDIAN NAVAL ACADEMY B.E/B.Tech - (10+2 with Physics & Maths).
AIR FORCE ACADEMY - Graduation, B.E/B.Tech (10+2 with Physics &Maths).
OFFICERS’ TRAINING ACADEMY (MEN) - Graduation Degree.
OFFICERS’ TRAINING ACADEMY (WOMEN) - Graduation Degree.
NOTE: Final year candidates can apply for CDS, but you should complete degree before the date of joining.
Required Age for CDS?
INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY- 19-24.
INDIAN NAVAL ACADEMY -19-24.
AIR FORCE ACADEMY - 20-24.
OFFICERS’ TRAINING ACADEMY (MEN) - 19-25.
OFFICERS’ TRAINING ACADEMY (WOMEN) - 19-2.
Selection Procedure of CDS:
CDS Exam conducted in three stages as follows-
Wriitten.
Interview.
Medical Examination.
Exam Paterrn of CDS:
(A) For Admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy:
English - 2 HRS - 100 Marks.
General Knowledge - 2 HRS - 100 Marks
Elementary Mathematics - 2 HRS - 100 Marks.
(B) For Admission to Officer Training Academy-
English - 2 HRS - 100 Marks.
General Knowledge - 2 HRS - 100 Marks.
Information About CDS Exam 1 2021:
Combined Defence Services Exam 1 2021 Notification will be released by Union Public Service Commission on 28 Oct 20 according to the UPSC Examination Calendar 2021 and some important dates are delivered formally by UPSC.
How to Apply for CDS 1 Exam 2021?
1. Visit the official website or click below

2. Click on the UPSC CDSE 1 2021 link (Will be available after announcement of official notification) In part – I of the registration, submit your basic information.
3. In part II, fill the payment details and choice of exam center, upload your photo and sign as per guidelines
4. Save and submit it and take a print out for further reference.
